UK Chess Grandmaster Michael Adams will take on Hydra in a six game Chess showdown this June. Hydra is faster at planning ahead than IBM's Deep Blue which trounced Gary Kasparov into retirement.
Adams will probably lose the match but humanity still has the upperhand when it comes to Go.

Man, "Go" is not even a _real_ game, don't even bring up "Go".
The "Go Gos" -- now there you have toe tapping music!
Isn't this man v. machine chess stuff getting old about fifteen years ago? Why can't they make it interesting, like if the human player loses, the computer gets to chew off this or that part of his persons? Now that would draw an audience.
I would pay good money to see a 'last chess master standing' tournament.
Caged tag-team chess tournament with special "guest appearances" by the likes of Mr. Saito and King Kong Brody and the Sheik and those brothers from Texas, whatstheirnames? Excellent.
Mr. Saito man, with that richy rich from Monopoly outfit and bad Engrish calling out fat and happy Americans vis-a-vis the collapse of the US Auto Industry and the rise of Datsun while wrestling man.
Who invented the "sleeper" move?
Von something brothers, Texas, clean cut, blonde, I think they all died, gad,oh oh oh,
and how can I forget Rick "Nature Boy" Flair?!
